The Dynamic Autism Group ran 'The Step Up ASD project' in 2011-2012 . It was a social club which provided activities for sport-fitness, pre-fundamental work skills; art, music and drama. We set up classes specifically designed to teach activities in order to lay down basic fundamental skills of learning more complex, higher skills. The social club was for the teenagers on the Autism Spectrum. The project was funded by 'Award for All' National Lottery. There were many learning objectives in the activities and we are proud to announce that the young participants achieved our goals in terms of improvement in communication, movement and fundamental pre-work skills. They improved social skills in group setting within themselves but also the environment they were in. They had relaxation opportunity through music, dance and drama. All activities ran and monitored by the professionals who worked with young people on Autism Spectrum.
After completing the first Step Up! ASD project, we carried on our activities with the parents on a support basis. Our second project was 'Create your Own magazine'. It was stimulating experience for everybody and all of the participants improved their skills on ICT. Then we created our third project. It was the most inspiring, exciting project that we have ever done, 'Animation'. The youngsters created their characters, worked on story boards and using the ICT skills they brought the character alive. No need to say more, please see the group's other website for the Step UP!ASD project: www.dynamicautismgroup.com www.dynamicanimation.weebly.com Following these stimulating activities we ran 10 weeks ' under the tutoring of a professional musician. The music session was focused on the basic guitar, rhythm, melody, songs, performance and a musical understanding.
